ABS Plastic Enclosures

FR-ABS

We use two flame retardant ABS materials, both are certified to UL94-V0.  The materials below will pass at the minimum thickness listed and, of course, in any thicker gauges.

SP-590

Tool-Less uses a number of extruders to extrude our FR-ABS materials.  Tool-Less orders “SP590” along with thickness, color and texture.  The SP590 is made from a resin manufactured and certified by GE Plastics, designated “Cycolac GKX4500(d)”.  The UL file number is E121562.  This material is certified to UL94-V0 for 1.5 mm thicknesses; to UL94-5VB for 2.5 mm thickness; and to UL94-5VA for 3 mm thickness.

SP590 must be purchased in 2000 pound (minimum) lots.   Tool-Less stocks this material in Black (3,4 and 6 mm) and Light Grey (3 and 4 mm).

Royalite R59

This is an ABS/PVC blend extruded for Tool-Less by Royalite, which is now owned by Spartech Plastics.  Tool-Less orders “R59” along with thickness, color and texture.  Spartech/Royalite has certified the R59 under the “Royalite R59” designation; the UL file number is E52355.  This material is certified to UL94-V0 and 5VA for 2.2 mm thickness

R59 can be purchased in 1000 pound (minimum) lots.  Tool-Less stocks this material in Black (10 mm), White (3 and 4 mm), Warm grey 8430 (3 and 4 mm), Sym grey (3 mm) and Red (3 mm).
